As time passes
Bismillah,
I was planning to make a 10-series posts on my experience in the United States for an academic fellowship under the Young Southeast ASEAN Leadership Initiative (YSEALI). Met awesome fellows over there, 21 of us, I still miss the positive vibes until now. But turns out that I forgot about this, and things get busier with Ramadhan & Eid (the first week of Ramadhan was a bit disaster as I was adapting to jetlags, asal pukul 4 petang je mengantuk).

And here we are, 2 months post the program. Currently I am in Taiwan for a summer school in Global Governance for the next 6 weeks. New challenges, new experience, and new peers. I am very grateful for the opportunity given, knowledge seeking is a form of rizq that I am really grateful of Alhamdulillah. So after much negotiations with my parents (which quoted by Lance as the second visa interview), I flew to Taipei as a solo Malaysian delegate.

Definitely a lot of things happened in between the months. Earlier this year, I was actually brainstorming for the type of job that I can apply after finishing masters in strategic studies. Tapi itulah, Allah lorongkan rezeki dari jalan yang tak disangka-sangka. I was shortlisted for the academic fellowship. In total, I will spend 3 months of 2019 abroad, to my mother's annoyance..huhu. You need to understand, she's an Asian mom with animal fighting spirit, her depth of love for all 3 of us are extensive. Allah berikan Ar-rahim kepada ibu-ibu kita itu bersebab.

My engagement plan didn't work. We were almost 3 years in taaruf phase, he met my parents, I met his. Yet it's not going anywhere. We changed a lot within the period, our goals and way of thinking changed. What we want out of this marriage changed. So it ended with a text when was in Washington DC,
S: Do you think we can work this out?
A: I'm sorry, no. I can't
.
So here I am, wondering how on earth I can meet a decent guy out of my scarce pool of guy friends. 3 years is a lot of time..huhu. But nevermind, I believe that Allah has better plans.
.
I am going to do what I love, learn, khidmat dengan family, travel, gain new skills, write, and challenge myself. Pray for me :)
